Republican State Leadership Committee Announces the Re-launch of Right Women, Right Now
National Group to Recruit Republican Women Candidates to Run for Office
Washington, D.C. (May 23, 2013) – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today announced the re-launch of the Right Women, Right Now (RWRN) initiative. The RWRN is a subset of the Future Majority Project (FMP) the RSLC launched last year focusing on identifying, recruiting, supporting and electing new women candidates to state level offices across the country.
RWRN will be co-chaired by four women representing each caucus under the RSLC umbrella: Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch of Wisconsin, Gen. Pam Bondi of Florida, Secretary of State Kim Wyman of Washington and Speaker Beth Harwell of Tennessee. They issued the below joint statement.
“We applaud the Republican State Leadership Committee’s strong commitment to recruit and support women to state office,” said Co-Chairs Bondi, Kleefisch, Wyman and Harwell. “Right Women, Right Now has brought together a group of proven women leaders from across the nation who are passionate about increasing the number of Republican women in state level office. We look forward to working together to implement this long-term, sustainable project of identifying and recruiting qualified women to run for office.”
“The RSLC remains focused on growing the Republican Party from the ground up and enacting sound policies,” said RSLC President Chris Jankowski. “Time and again, women are proven leaders in their communities and the RSLC is dedicated to recruiting, identifying, supporting and electing strong women leaders to state level office. I would like to thank our co-chairs and their board for the continued leadership within their states by growing the economy, balancing sound budgets, supporting job creators and fighting against federal overreach.”

About the RSLC
The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is the largest caucus of Republican state leaders in the country and the only national organization whose mission is to elect down-ballot, state-level Republican officeholders. Since 2002, the RSLC has been working to elect candidates to the office of lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state and state legislator. The RSLC has more than 100,000 donors in all 50 states. In the 2011-2012 election cycle, the RSLC invested in 42 states, breaking previous fundraising and political spending records, set in 2009-2010, with an increase in fundraising by 28 percent to $39 million and an increase in direct political spending by 35 percent to $27 million. This cycle’s effort picked up six new legislative chambers, saw a net gain in over 30 chambers, created or expanded 16 Republican supermajorities and picked up two new attorneys general. Additionally, the RSLC successfully launched the Future Majority Project, spending more than $5 million in direct support of Republican candidates of Hispanic descent and women, and investing to expand digital outreach efforts to millennial voters.
