ALEXANDRIA, VA Scott Ward, President of the Republican State Leadership Committee, the nation's largest caucus of Republican state leaders, released the following statement concerning Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell's announcement that he is resigning to run full-time for Governor:

The Republican State Leadership Committee is committed to building a farm team for the future. Bob McDonnell has been an integral part of this team as a member of the House of Delegates and as Attorney General. His term as Attorney General has been marked with tremendous success by offering real solutions to modern issues. Because of his record of results and willingness to work for common sense solutions, there is no doubt that he will make an outstanding Governor for the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is the only national organization whose mission is electing Republicans to the office of Attorney General, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and State Legislator.
