ALEXANDRIA, VA – Americans are demanding more accountability from their state and federal government and Republican state legislators are answering their call. The Republican State Leadership Committee today highlighted the effort of state legislators proposing searchable databases to make state government spending more transparent and open to the taxpayers of their respective states. Republican legislators in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia are among those pushing new measures this legislative session.

ALEXANDRIA, VA The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), the nation's largest caucus of Republican state leaders, congratulated Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer as she takes the post of Governor. Brewer was named Governor as Democrat Governor Janet Napolitano has accepted the position of Homeland Security Secretary in the Obama Administration. Governor Brewer has a 26-year history in state and local government having served in both chambers of the Arizona legislature, as chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, and most recently as Secretary of State. She is a prime example of the mission of the RSLC building a farm team for the future.

ALEXANDRIA, VA Republican Attorneys General Jon Bruning (Nebraska), Troy King (Alabama) and Rob McKenna (Washington) have announced new initiatives to fight sexual predators in their 2009 legislative agendas. The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), the nation's largest caucus of Republican state leaders, noted that these proposals continue the ongoing efforts of these three Attorneys General, along with other Republican Attorneys General across the country, to keep individuals, especially children, safe from harm.
