The Democrats only hope - hope is probably too strong of a word here - to unseat incumbent Attorney General Tom Corbett ultimately rests with this man - 4-time statewide wannabe John Morganelli. And Mr. Morganelli’s hopes at a successful campaign rests with this man:
Political consultant Tom Severson, who it turns out is exactly the person you DON’T want running your campaign to be the chief law enforcement officer. If you recall, we covered Mr. Severson’s issues before the law, and his good friend John Morganelli’s take that Mr. Severson hadn’t done anything to break the law. Well, now a statewide grand jury is examining Mr. Severson’s activities - what do they know, right?
It’s come to light that Mr. Severson is being investigated for threatening local city councilman Ron Angle at the funeral of a friend, with a switch blade! Think it’s nuts? So do we.
From the Allentown Morning Call:
Angle testified this morning at a preliminary hearing that he feared for his life and slipped out at side door of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church toward the end of the funeral and ran for his pickup truck after Severson repeatedly gave him a “crazy look,” and said “I’m going to kill you,” while at one point flashing what looked like a switchblade in his pocket. He said Severson also told him he was “going to get him in the parking lot.”
You can get the rest of the story here.
PA bloggers have been on this story here, and here. Wonder if a certain former Ohio A.G., and current Former Attorneys General group member is advising Mr. Morganelli’s campaign? With a campaign consultant like this guy, what ranks of former A.G.s could Morganelli possibly join? |

NewsOn6.com:
There was a major development on Wednesday in the fight to end illegal immigration in Oklahoma. A federal judge has blocked the enforcement of parts of House Bill 1804, specifically the part that goes after employers who hire illegals.
News On 6 anchor Scott Thompson reports the decision comes just weeks before that part of the bill was supposed to be enforced.
Some business owners say the ruling makes legal and financial sense.
Some in the construction business say House Bill 1804 is out to stifle the sound of construction, but builders aren’t the only ones feeling the brunt of Oklahoma’s new immigration law.
The Chamber of Commerce teamed up with the Oklahoma’s restaurants and hotels to fight the bill.

From LegalNewsLine:
The other complainant, who is resigning from the AG’s office effective June 30, sent a letter to Ohio AG Nancy H. Rogers on June 23 titled, “Before I go.” The June communications between Urban, Taylor and other AG staffers were obtained by Legalnewsline following a public records request. In her letter, Taylor told of how she once had been proud of working at the AG’s office but when Marc Dann’s tenure began, the environment instantly became hostile, crude and unprofessional. She described an environment where vulgar language and “inappropriate and unprofessional behavior rapidly became the norm.”
Taylor wrote she changed departments within the AG’s office several times during Dann’s tenure in the hopes of settling somewhere where her colleagues were pleasant and congenial. What she found instead, however, was just the opposite. Rather than face another transition when a new Attorney General is elected in November to fill the remaining two years of Dann’s term, Taylor decided to leave the office altogether.
Before she leaves, however, Taylor had a few requests of the woman appointed by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland on May 21 to fill the AG post until the November elections. Taylor asked Nancy H. Rogers to provide a letter of recommendation and have 504 hours of leave restored to her bank of time to be paid to Taylor in her last paycheck. She claimed to have used those hours as a reprieve from the stressful work environment prevalent during Dann’s tenure.
